Child Protective Services was looking for me and my arm. We were on the run from a government agency.
That could be why Papa looks so disappointed in his daughter.
CPS Investigation Number Two
I called ***** County Child Protective Services myself. I was not going to let Mother kill me. I decided to live. The Child Protective Services agency has records of this investigation. In 2022, Mother voluntarily lied in court, under oath, about this investigation. Mother stated unequivocally “I have never been investigated by Child Protective Services”. Mother was investigated twice. The Mormon Cop handled the first, the elderly Mormon couple handled the second.
Our state’s child welfare system is obviously overwhelmed, underfunded. During the first investigation, Mother, Father and Cop had prearranged the cover-up. I was seen by CPS, but not talked to. The Cop wouldn’t let CPS talk to me.
The Mormon’s tactic for this second investigation was to hide me from CPS. I had damaged my arm; not even the dirty Mormon cop could hide that. So Mother and (?) hid me from CPS.
I am not going to publish any of the documentation I have related to the CPS Investigations. Each document has a scary warning that reads “This information is confidential. Unauthorized dissemination of the contents of this information is a violation of (redacted) of the Revised Code. Anyone who permits or encourages unauthorized dissemination of the contents of this information is in violation of (redacted) of the Revised Code. Such a violation is a misdemeanor of the fourth degree.” I will legally provide these to attorneys or law enforcement personnel investigating the Church and my parents.

Hidden away from Child Protective Services
Mother was notified that she was being investigated again. This time, I was never a part of the investigation. I never saw or spoke with a CPS investigator ever. I was hidden away by the LDS Mormon Church at another Mormon’s house.
Mother and Father asked Brother and Sister Ralph* to house me. Brother Ralph “doesn’t believe in getting into other people’s business” so they did not ask questions. 😓 So, Brother and Sister Ralph* hid me from Child Protective Services. Hiders. Kidnappers.
I lived in the Ralph’s house in the next town over. They lived in a different county than my school. I am pretty sure that Mother broke the law by hiding me in a different county and not telling my school.
Their children had grown-up and left home. I remember that their daughter visited them once when I was there. She tried to give me an “older sister pep talk”. I wish I could remember what she said.
Sister Ralph was nice to me. I think she meant well. She made me buttered toast every morning that we were around each other. It was better treatment than I ever received in my parent’s house. But, she and her husband should have asked more questions.
Brother Ralph was his “loving gruff” self. I enjoyed having a male presence in the home. He truly was a sitcom dad, and I mean that in the nicest way. He also should have asked more questions. Father could have used a come-to-Jesus from an Elder at this point in his life. “why are you sticking a kid with a cut up arm in my house”.
Brother and Sister Ralph kept me hidden from CPS. Once the investigation concluded, I was returned to Mother and Father’s house…
Sidebar: Brother Ralph has passed away. Sister Ralph is still alive. In 2024 I connected with their daughter. She was the one that tried to give me that ‘big sister pep talk’ back in 1994. The daughter is no longer Mormon. We exchanged messages and had a phone call. The daughter insists that her parents were ‘naive’ and accepted what my parents told them at face value. When I was sent to their home in 1994, I had a cut up arm. Why didn’t the Ralph’s ask “why are you putting a kid with a cut up arm in our home?” Mormons are too polite to ask the obvious questions. In this case, the Ralph’s met the legal definition of kidnapping me. Regardless of their ‘gullibility’, they enabled my parents to quash a second Child Protective Services Investigation.

Back in my parents house
When I returned home, my parents did not place me a bedroom. I was put in the “study”. This was a tiny room between the garage and the family room. There was enough space for a twin bed and a small desk. There was not enough space for anyone to get through the room into the garage without waking me. My bed was in a common area of the home. I wasn’t allowed to be in the basement because Father had his practice planet down there.
What a warm welcome home.
Mother flat-out told me that she did not want me there. She said that I had “worn out my welcome with Brother and Sister Ralph* and she was forced to take me back in”. She seemed to relish calling me a burden. I see that word in my nightmares. I am a burden. a burden… a burden… a burden….
I tried to play by her ever-changing rules (see above), but Mother just wanted to fight. She would constantly say “shut up Joseph*. You shut up or I will call the police. All I have to say is that you are unruly and incorrigible. That is all I have to say. They will take you to juvenile hall.” Remember, she was trained at Brigham Young University in their Social Work program. Mother knew how to pull the law enforcement strings so I would be the bad person.
So that is what happened. I went to juvenile hall. For no reason. 💩

Missed a lot of school to be in jail

I missed 11 days of school in 1995-1996. That was the most days since I was raped in 1984-1985 when I missed 5 days.
I was in Juvenile hall. I remember being in the suicide watch cell the first night or three. A guard had to look at me through the window and push a button every 15 minutes. I was moved into a different cell when they realized I was a pretty chill dude.
I had my own cell. There was a common area. I made friends easily with the other boys on my block. I was not harmed while I was in jail. Not everyone in the juvenile justice system is so lucky.
Because I was sent there by my parents, I could be released at any time.
Let me repeat that for the fast readers. My parents sent me to juvenile hall at their sole discretion. No crime was committed other than Mother’s lies.
I was allowed a few minutes of phone time each day. I had to make collect calls. I called my house every day. Every day Mother asked me “If I was sorry for being unruly and incorrigible”. Every day she said she did not think I was “sorry enough”. She left me there to teach me a lesson: snitches get sent to jail. I asked to speak to my Father. Mother always said the same thing when I asked for Father: “You are dealing with me.”
After many days, Mother “allowed me” to come home.
I wonder if the County told her “your son is taking up space that we need for actual criminals”.
That is how the rest of my time at home went. If I said I was going to call CPS, Mother would call the police. What a great mother.
Our state keeps horrible records. I think Mother picked this state on purpose. She is well protected by the current laws. 🟥
